Overview
MOVO (“MOVO,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a global super app that enables users to communicate, host communities, conduct financial transactions, and engage in commerce through the MOVO mobile application, the movochat.com website, and any related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Eligibility
To use MOVO, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old, or the legal age of majority in your country.
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering.
- Not be subject to any sanction, ban, or restriction that prevents you from using the Services.
- Comply with all laws and regulations applicable to your use of MOVO.
Account and security
You are responsible for safeguarding your account, your credentials, and the security of the devices you use to access MOVO. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
MOVO offers tools to help you stay secure — biometric payment confirmation, login alerts, trusted-device controls, and an opt-in Secure Mode for end-to-end encrypted chats — but these tools cannot eliminate every risk. MOVO is not liable for unauthorized access caused by user negligence.
Communication services
MOVO provides messaging (private chats, group chats, communities, and rooms), voice and video calls, voice notes, file sharing, and live-location sharing. Some content is stored and processed on our servers so that it can be delivered across your devices.
Chats opted into Secure Mode are end-to-end encrypted. MOVO cannot read, recover, or restore Secure Mode message content.
Real-time translation may modify how messages are displayed on a per-user basis based on language preferences.
Payments and wallet
MOVO includes a digital wallet and financial features that let you send money, request payments, top up by card via Stripe, deposit crypto, and withdraw to bank or crypto.
- All transactions are final unless otherwise stated.
- You are responsible for verifying the recipient before you send.
- Currency conversion rates and processing fees may apply to deposits, withdrawals, and transactions.
- Fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, and any other unauthorized payment activity are strictly prohibited.
- We may freeze, hold, or reverse transactions, and we may suspend accounts when we identify suspicious activity or when required by law.
MCoin (in-app currency)
MCoin is a non-cash, in-app digital value used inside MOVO. MCoin is not legal tender, is not backed by any government, and is not guaranteed to be redeemable for fiat currency unless explicitly enabled.
MOVO reserves the right to adjust conversion rates, restrict transfers, and disable or modify MCoin usage at its discretion.
Marketplace and commerce
MOVO Market lets users and businesses publish listings, communicate with buyers, and receive payments across nine categories — Real Estate, Vehicles, Electronics, Fashion & Beauty, Home & Living, Digital, Services, Local & Nearby, and Other.
Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, the legality of the items or services they offer, fulfillment, delivery, taxes, and compliance with all applicable laws.
MOVO acts as a platform, not as a party to transactions between buyers and sellers.
Escrow (where enabled)
For certain transactions, MOVO may hold buyer funds in escrow until completion is confirmed. Escrow releases occur automatically when the buyer confirms delivery, or in accordance with platform rules.
Disputes may be reviewed by MOVO. MOVO reserves the right to make final decisions on disputes, including refunds, partial refunds, or releases of funds.
Content and social features
MOVO lets you publish posts, photos, videos, voice notes, audio rooms, and other content in communities, rooms, and chats. You retain ownership of the content you create.
By publishing content on MOVO, you grant MOVO a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and distribute that content as needed to deliver the Services.
You must not post or transmit content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, harassing, defamatory, infringing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that violates the rights of others.
Creator monetization
Creators may earn through tips, gifts, subscriptions, and sales inside MOVO. MOVO may take a service fee, set payout schedules and limits, withhold payouts pending review, and restrict monetization if abuse, fraud, or terms violations are detected.
Business accounts
Businesses may use MOVO to manage customer communications, sell products and services, and access analytics. Businesses are responsible for complying with all applicable laws — including consumer protection, tax, data protection, advertising, and licensing requirements.
AI and translation features
MOVO may use AI for real-time translation, content recommendations, and other features. AI outputs may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing AI-assisted content before relying on it for important decisions.
Translation is performed by MOVO’s self-hosted Argos engine. Message text used for translation is not shared with any third-party AI vendor.
Prohibited activities
You must not use the Services to:
- Engage in any illegal activity or facilitate illegal activity by others.
- Hack, exploit, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Services or their infrastructure.
- Create fake accounts, impersonate other people, or circumvent suspensions and bans.
- Engage in scams, fraud, phishing, money laundering, or any unauthorized payment activity.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages, spam, or unauthorized promotional content.
- Scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Services without express written permission.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we believe pose a risk to the platform or its users, or where we are required to by law. We may also freeze funds, remove content, and decline to process transactions.
You may delete your account at any time from inside the app. A 7-day grace period applies during which you can cancel the deletion request.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MOVO is not liable for:
- User-generated content or the conduct of other users.
- Financial losses resulting from user error, including sending payments to the wrong recipient.
- Service interruptions, delays, or data loss outside our reasonable control.
- Third-party integrations, including payment providers, messaging providers, and cloud infrastructure.
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Effective Date” above and, where required, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Services after the update means you accept the revised Terms.
